Texas Canyon Arizona

......
Multi-Ton Boulders Bigger Than Your House In A Huge Pile In The Desert.
About an hour southeast of Tucson is Texas Canyon. When I was in my early 20's I visted
Texas Canyon twice with my friends.
Upon arriving at the southwestern point and looking up. I was in complete awe of the view.
I had never in my life seen rocks as huge as my house. In fact, They were bigger than my barn.
They were just amazing.
There were hundreds and hundreds of bolders in a huge pile in the middle of the desert.
Both times we visited Texas Canyon, We climbed in and out of the huge bolders.
Over, Under Through and Across.
At one point I remember my close friend telling me that we were coming upon Devils Hole.

I remember Devils Hole to be two huge rocks bigger and wider than a 3 story barn placed
along side of each other about 2 or 3 feet apart. With an over 3 story drop between the two.
My friend told me that if I didn't want to go through. There was another way around. So, I decided
to be brave and follow the guys through. In order to do this. We had to lower our backs to one wall
and put our feet up on the other wall and shimmey ourselves across.
For some reason, The first time seemed so easy and I was not worried at all
about getting across. But, I think the view of what I had crossed over after getting to the other side
spooked me so much. The second time we visited Texas Canyon, I actually cryed when everyone
else wanted to go through Devils Hole. But, I managed to make it through with them telling me, "You
can do it. You did it before." Oh my gosh. Just the thought of it gives me such a scare.
Now, in my late 40's I would like the opportunity to approach Devils Hole in Texas Canyon again. But,
For some reason, I don't believe, I would cross it a third time. I may never know. I'm not even sure if
it's was legal to climb the rocks back when I did it in the early 80's. It may not be now.
To this day, I tell my 3 boys that I would love to show them Texas Canyon.
